The project
Ryman Healthcare has a series of retirement villages all over New Zealand. The retirement villages pose some particular challenges for fire safety systems, for instance with dementia wings having the ability for full lockdown to keep patients safe. While alarms have to allow people to escape a potential fire, it must have safeguards to prevent vulnerable patients from wandering off.
The role of AFS Total Fire
AFS Total Fire has worked with Ryman Healthcare on a number of projects already, designing and installing systems that combine sprinklers and alarms. “We have significant expertise in the design, layout and programming of these facilities,” says project manager Daren Green.
