The project

Kalmar Construction completed a $25 million project to complete a hotel with two towers of 17 and 19 levels respectively. Celestion Apartments has 123 rooms, a restaurant, bar and gym.

The role of AFS Total Fire

AFS Total Fire installed an integrated sprinkler and alarm system on all floors.

“Price was a major factor when we chose AFS Total Fire,” says Tim Ellery, who managed the project for Kalmar Construction. “However, we checked their references to ensure they had the capability.”

Throughout the project, he had daily contact with AFS Total Fire, from the designers through to the foreman on site. “AFS Total Fire attended all site meetings and informed us whenever they came across a problem. By doing this, we could resolve issues in time so it didn’t hold up any work. They also work in well with the other subcontractors.”
